1. Senior Snuggles: A Valentine’s Day Cuddle Event

Date and Time: February 17, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST

Location: Compassionate Roots LLC, 154 Carey Drive Noblesville, IN 46060

Did you know that cuddling stimulates the release of dopamine and serotonin, which in turns make you happier and less stressed? So, when is a better time for cuddling than on Valentine’s Day?

Expect a lots of cuddles from senior rescue dogs from the Senior Snuggles, a joint event by Compassionate Roots and Taffys Touch Senior Dog Rescue.

This event is free for all to attend, has light refreshment, and definitely a cozy space perfect for cuddles and snuggles!

Furthermore, donations for Taffy’s Touch Senior Dog Rescue are not required, but are highly encouraged. You can also check out their wish list here!

Other than this event, Taffy’s Touch Senior Dog Rescue also offers Valentine’s Day treats you can definitely buy for your own pooch. All proceeds will benefit the rescue.

2. Puppy Cuddle Event By Scituate Animal Shelter

Date and Time: February 14, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Location: 780 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy Scituate, MA 02066

If there’s a senior dog cuddling event on Valentine’s Day, of course there has to be a puppy cuddling event, too!

For this event, Scituate Animal Shelter will open its doors to visitors to allow them to play and cuddle with their shelter dogs, but the main stars of the show are a litter of six adorable Husky puppies that the shelter took on from their local animal control.

According to the marketing coordinator of the shelter, one of this cuddle event’s purpose is to help socialize the puppies and expose them to a wide variety of people.

The cost of the event will be $20 per person and $60 for families and/or groups of up to five people.

The puppies, which will turn 10 weeks old by Valentine’s Day, will probably be ready for adoption! So, the event is a win-win situation for the puppies and for visitors who might want to adopt.

3. Furry Valentines Pet Food Drive

Date and Time: February 15, 04:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: Moscow Chamber of Commerce, 411 S Main St, Moscow, ID 83843

If you wanna spend Valentine’s Day with your own furry friend and change things up a bit, then you might want to check out this twofer!

The Furry Valentines Pet Food Drive is an event where local artists from Terracotta Pullman help you create your very own trinket and jewelry dishes featuring your dog’s unique paw print.

After creating your own piece, you can glaze and paint it at Craft (formerly Wild at Art) in March, for no extra cost.

Now here’s the catch — You can make a second paw dish for FREE as long as you bring in food donations for shelter dogs with the Humane Society of the Palouse.

4. Toronto Humane Society’s Spread The Love Campaign

If your love language is gift giving, then the Spread The Love campaign by Toronto Humane Society is a perfect way for you to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

While not technically an event, it’s an excellent way to spread the love and celebrate Valentine’s Day. With this campaign, you can choose between two options: send a ‘Goodie Gram’ to shelter dogs or send a Valentine’s Card to a loved one.

For the ‘Goodie Gram’, you can choose between so many gifts, ranging from a microchip service, vaccination, monetary donation, to toys and treats.

Meanwhile, the Valentine’s Card option includes eight cards designed after the shelter animals at Toronto Humane Society and a $20 donation.

5. $14 Valentine’s Day Adoptions and Matchmaking

Are you single, ready to mingle, and potentially adopt a shelter dog on Valentine’s Day? Then the Jacksonville Humane Society’s Valentine’s Day Adoptions and Matchmaking event is just the right event for you!

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the Jacksonville Humane Society is offering $14 adoptions on their shelter dogs and cats.Along with this, the animal shelter is also offering a special matchmaking blind dates for potential adopters!

Who knows? You might just find your “perfect companions” at this event, if you know what we mean 😉

6. Dating with Dogs: Singles Social & Valentine’s Day Fundraising Event

Date and Time: February 14, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Location: Forgotten Star Brewing Co. 38 Northern Stacks Dr, Fridley, MN 55421

Dating With Dogs is a joint event by Forgotten Star Brewing and Ruff Start Rescue that you and your furry Valentine can enjoy!

This fundraising event has a lot of fun activities waiting for both hoomans and doggos. There will be food trucks, Ruff Start Rescue merchandise, dog treats, dog clothes, accessories, and many more!

And if you wanna freshen up your dating profile with a new photo, then there will be a Valentine’s-themed photo booth at the event you can definitely try.

Interestingly, during your check-in at the event, the organizers will be giving out different color wristbands to see if you’re single, in a relationship or if “it’s complicated”.

And of course, if you can, Ruff Start Rescue is encouraging event goers to donate $10 to support shelter dogs and other animals in their care.

7. Send A Shelter Pet A Valentine

Looking for a simple yet meaningful way to show shelter dogs some extra love this Valentine’s Day? Then Humane Indiana’s Send A Shelter Pet A Valentine is the one for you.

You can simply donate $5 to a chosen shelter dog from their website (or they can randomly pick one for you!) and the shelter will hang a Valentine on the animal’s kennel so that they feel extra loved every day.

The $5 donation will definitely help the shelter to continue caring for the animals and families in their community.
